Swallow Union picnic is grand success for APT and kids

On September 28th, Swallow Union’s APT (Association of Parent and Teachers) sponsored it’s first-ever Back to School Picnic. The weather was perfect, the attendance was outstanding (over 475 attendees), and the big hit was clearly the dunk tank

GDRMS Principal Silverman's Orientation for Parents (video)

On August 28, the new Groton Dunstable middle school principal, Steve Silverman, gave a presentation to parents to share his perspective on middle school education and what he is planning to do as principal of the middle school.

Funding for sports programs cut from GDRSD budget

According to GDRSD Athletic Director Dan Twomey, the district had to cut the funding out of the district budget for all freshman soccer and basketball teams at the high school and for the lacrosse teams at the middle school.

GDRSD FY08 Budget reduced

After the override that was needed to supplement the GDRSD budget for FY08 failed in both towns, the School Committee met on May 30 and voted to reduce the operating budget by an additional $1.2 million. This reduction adds to the $350,000 in cuts that they approved on April 4.
