Rep. Tsongas Announces Congress on Your Corner Program

Congresswoman Niki Tsongas today announced that she will be creating a Congress on Your Corner program as part of her office's constituent outreach service. The program is designed to take her office out into the communities she serves in order to hear from residents so that she may better represent the families of the Fifth District.

"Accessibility and accountability to the families of the 5th District allows me to serve you with the best constituent services possible," said Congresswoman Niki Tsongas. "I want to make it as easy as possible for people to come see me and share their concerns, ideas, and needs."

Congresswoman Tsongas will be scheduling public appearances in communities throughout the Merrimack Valley and in the Southern towns at weekend hot spots such as grocery stores, shopping centers and libraries or Post Offices. The Congresswoman will have congressional staff with her and will be available to discuss issues that are on the minds of people in each of the locations. She will also be able to collect the appropriate information about an individual problem someone may have with a federal agency so that her office can try to help.

"I believe that it is my duty to make sure that I remain in touch with the residents I am representing," Rep. Tsongas added. "I want to know how they feel about the bills Congress is considering, and I want to be able to connect with people to make sure they know of the ways my office can help. This is one of the many ways we are able to make ourselves available and I look forward to meeting as many people as possible in the coming weeks and months."
