Swallow Union

  • Swallow Union school held its first, and hopefully, annual Back-To-School Picnic hosted by the APT with the help of many volunteers. The event took place on Friday, September 28th. The students had the opportunity to sell raffle tickets prior to the event which in turn paid their admission. Otherwise, admission was $10 per person. The picnic included dinner, games, the raffle drawing and a dunk tank where everyone got the chance to dunk either Mr. Trainor (a fourth grade teacher), Mr. Murphy (the PE teacher) or the principal, Mr. Myerson.

The idea for the picnic came about as a result of feedback from parents regarding the number of fundraisers that were held during the school year. The thought was that this one event would replace all the other fundraisers for the year. We are very happy to report that through the work of many, many volunteers, the APT met their monetary goal for the year and everyone who went had a great time!
