Proceeds from the event will be given to the "Assistant Chief Richard C. Bacon Memorial Scholarship" fund, which was created in 1999 in memory of George's only son, who died in the line of duty on August 5th, 1999. Engine 6 carries Dick Bacon's call number in his memory.
Chief Bacon plans to continue working with the Fire Department. His experience and contributions to the community are greatly appreciated.
