With apologies to the Bard, a take-off on Sonnet 116 
(Let me not to the marriage of true minds admit impediments…….)

Let me not to continuous cell phone function

Admit impediments.  Service is not service

When it wavers at the junction

Of Route 113 and Main.  Be serious—

It is a constant empty chatter

That drives through tempests and is never shaken.

It is daily steady clatter

Whose worth’s unknown, though its price IS taken!

Verizon is no fool and runs its tests

In summer leaf, when neighbors cannot see

Its 120 foot balloon above the nests

Of Great Blue Herons perched in sheltering tree.

            From one who hopes our open lands survive:

            Can you here me now?  Hang up and drive!
