Starting at the Top...

Search BoxThe content of The bannerhead displays a Dunstable scene or theme, and will be updated periodically.  On the right side of the bannerhead, there is a Search box.  Dunstable Commons is re-indexed every hour, so even very recently-introduced material can be located with the search.  If you press the Search button without entering any text in the box, you will go to a search page that gives you advanced, precision search capabilities.

Search problems?

I noticed in the site's error log that someone tried a search yesterday and it failed. I looked into it and noticed that re-indexing, which is supposed to be automatic, hadn't worked recently, which means that recent material wasn't indexed, and thus wasn't 'findable.' I manually re-indexed, and search seems to be working now. Please let me know if you experience any difficulties with search.

For Internet Explorer, press "Search" button, rather than Enter

Doing some poking around, it appears there is a bug in Internet Explorer. Until I can find a fix for it, IE users should enter their search terms in the text box, then press the "Search" button just below it. Pressing the "Enter" key on the keyboard usually doesn't work. Again, let me know if there are any other problems in this area.
