Dunstable Baseball had very successful evening of fundraising last Saturday night at the Knights of Columbus in Pepperell. All total, the poker tournament earned the league $1,600 from entry fees and charitable donations. Fundraisers and charitable donations help keep player registration fees low.
"We're very happy with the support we received from the community for our poker fundraiser. If you ask anyone who attended, they'll tell you it was a fun, exciting night. The live action adds to the drama when it gets down to the end", commented Dave Ierardi, DYAA [0] president.
The tradition of first-time poker players from Dunstable winning continues. Derek Benard, playing in his first poker tournament, was the first-place winner. Derek got a lot of support from players at his table in the beginning. Mark Whitney was the other "townie" finishing in the money. Mark finished fourth.
DYAA expressed their appreciation to everyone who has played and supported Dunstable Baseball. They rely on community support to keep the program going.
