Dunstable Dog Handler chosen to compete in World Sheepdog Trials

The deftness with which a dog, typically a Border Collie or Australian Shepherd, can herd sheep under the direction of its dog handler has long been recognized as one of the best examples of the working relationship between humans and dogs. We have one of those dog/handler teams living here in Dunstable.

One of the great pleasures of living in Dunstable is sharing our yard with a wide variety of creatures that live with us permanently or regularly visit. One of our regular visitors this winter has been a family of turkeys. It has not been a great winter for them, so our bird feeders have been a welcome oasis in this desert of snow. It has been interesting to observe how their appearance and behavior has changed just in the last week as spring approaches.

Dunstable teen to race with Alpine Junior Olympic ski team

Garrett Quimby, age 14, of Dunstable, recently made the 16-man Alpine Junior Olympic ski team and races for Waterville Valley, NH. He was one of only 5 boys from New Hampshire that made the team both last year and this year competing against other 13 and 14 year olds.

DYAA Donates Funds for Larter Field Maintenance

Faced with a town budget that reduced the funds to maintain Larter Field, the Dunstable Youth Athletic Association felt it was necessary to donate funds to the town to help pay for field maintenance this year (FY08).

Donation deadline extended for NRWA Benefit Auction 2008

The Nashua River Watershed Association (NRWA) is still accepting donations for Auction 2008, live and silent auctions, to be held on March 29 at the Royal Plaza Hotel in Fitchburg. The donation deadline has been extended to February 25th!
